Frank “Bomber” Sobrero was known nationally for possessing one of the best arms in the country, a talent that earned him a 1934 All-Pacific Coast Selection. Sobrero had a connection with Gil Dowd, and they still to this date will go down as on one of the best passing combinations duos in Santa Clara history. While known for being a passer, Sobrero could also run and and punt the ball. During his years at SCU, the Broncos never lost to Cal.
