Louis “Butch” Pastorini is one of the two legendary Pastorini brothers that have attended Santa Clara. While at Santa Clara, Pastorini played both offense at guard and linebacker. In his junior year, he spearheaded the rumored best linebacking core in the country with 64 tackles. He later went on to earn All-Coast Associated Press in 1964 and the MVP of the All-American Team in 1965. O’Malley has called him one of the greatest defensive players at SCU from his aggressive style of play and effort in pursuing the ball. Pastorini was also on the wrestling team during his time at SCU. After graduating, he coached here for 25 years until the program ended.
