Robert Cicchi was an exceptional player and coach for the Santa Clara football team. Even at a young age, Cicchi was a standout athlete, excelling on the football field. He played many positions, but dominated as wide-receiver, giving the opposing cornerbacks nightmares. At Santa Clara, he was the team’s top receiver in both his junior and senior years. In his final game as a player, Cicchi hauled in a touchdown to beat Southern Oregon 32-0, solidifying him as one of SCU’s football greats. After graduation, Cicchi returned to his Bronco family to become an assistant coach for the legendary Pat Malley.
