Patrick Heffernan was a standout player for the Santa Clara Broncos in the late 1930’s. He was part of the “Magicians on the Maplewood” where his teammates and him would make opponents look silly. Heffernan was known to have grit-like qualities that would inspire his teammates. After his collegiate career, he became the alumni president from 1966-1968.
