Quarterback Ray Calcagno had a successful athletic career at Santa Clara University from 1964-1968. During his four years as a Bronco, he threw for 4,961 yards, earned All-American honors, and won all but just six games. After graduating from SCU in 1968, Calcagno played professional football with Denver (American Football League) and Seattle (Continental League). After three years in the service, he became an assistant coach for the Broncos.
